the lonely

the lonely

independent, she is.
the quietness of being alone draws her in.
the stillness, it comforts her,
beckoning her to come...
to push others away.

but the stillness becomes painful,
deafening.
with tears streaming down her face,
she realizes this world she has created is...
lonely.
the lonely consumes her,
sending chills down her spine.
the lonely rings in her ears like a siren.

the lonely is calling her no more.

  1. Oh I hope you're not talking about yourself. And if you are, that it's a passing phase.

I think solitude is lovely, but I guess it can stretch into lonliness.

  4. This is beautiful and sad at the same time. I really love the way you ended the *poem* the lonely is calling her no more!

ps: I haven't read Harry Potter. I know, shame on me, but I have watched all the movies. Well except for the last one. Everybody keeps telling me I should read them, but there are too many books out there that I want to read first. ;)

  6. friend, i love this. the way the photo parallels the poetry... i wrote about this loneliness today too... funny though, how one can feel so lonely in a large crowd of people, and so at peace, alone. i so appreciate you.
