(my new iPhoneography)
The single most important gift my mother has taught me in my few years (by her example) is
seeing people. I mean really seeing them.
Seeing those who are having bad days.
Seeing those who are left out.
Seeing those who are hurting and in pain.
Seeing those who feel under appreciated.
Seeing those who just need some company.
Seeing those who need a hug or smile.
And not only does she see these people, but she does something to help them.
By inviting a left out neighbor to a dinner party, sending cards and baked goods any time
anyone is in need, by making someone under appreciated feel worthy...
she helps.
And the beauty of it all is that she doesn't even realize how much she does for
others. She doesn't even notice the eyes always full of admiration surrounding her.
She is a beautiful woman from the very inside of her soul to the outermost freckles on her
skin.
I love you Mama, and thank you for showing me how to live for others.
